Summer School sparks joy and creativity at Sharnbrook Mill Theatre

From 21st to 25th July, Sharnbrook Mill Theatre came alive with movement, music, and imagination as 29 young participants took part in this year’s Summer School, culminating in a vibrant showcase on Friday afternoon. Led by coordinators Paul Wildman and Louise Devonshire-Mander, the programme offered a dynamic mix of drama, dance, improvisation, musical theatre, and songwriting.

Tutors Charlotte Pask (dance) and Matt Rees (music) brought exceptional skill and energy to their sessions. Matt joined from Wednesday, following the end of his school term, and made a fantastic contribution with songwriting workshops and vocal support. Charlotte’s choreography demonstrated her ability to draw out expressive movement and stage-ready confidence from each student.

Throughout the week, the students themselves brought a fantastic spirit of positivity, teamwork, and creativity. Their willingness to try new things, support one another, and dive wholeheartedly into each activity made the atmosphere truly special. The showcase reflected not only their growing talent but also the joy they shared in working together.

This year’s format returned to the well-loved structure of previous years, and feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Parents and students alike expressed their enthusiasm, with many already asking how to secure places for Summer School 2026!

Special thanks to all tutors for their professionalism, passion, and high standards throughout. Their dedication created a warm and inspiring environment where young people could thrive artistically and socially.
