We know auditions can be a nerve racking experience, so please take plenty of time to familiarise yourself with the material and give yourself time to feel prepared for the day. We want you to do well – and we have all been in your position – so we’ll do our best to (hopefully) make it an enjoyable experience for us all!

Register to Audition
You need to complete the sign up form to be allocated an audition time slot. If you filled in a paper form at one of the information evenings, there’s no need to fill in the digital form – we’ll contact you!
Audition Date and Time
Auditions will take place on Sunday 31st May at Sharnbrook Mill Theatre.
You will be emailed with an audition timeslot which will be in the morning (10am-1.30pm) or in the afternoon (1.30pm-5pm).
Solo Audition Material
Monologue – you will be asked to perform two monologues. You can find the monologues here.
You will need to choose:
- One Newfoundland monologue (From a choice of four)
- One American monologue (From a choice of three)
Singing – you will be asked to perform one song/set of songs. Kate has provided some guidance about which song to choose which you can download here. If you are particularly keen to play one of the characters mentioned below, we would recommend singing their song, otherwise, you can choose any song that you enjoy singing and fits your vocal range – the pieces are not gender-specific.

Group Session Material
You will be asked to join in with a group workshop, which will involve a harmony and movement session. You do not need to prepare for these sessions, but we have provided the material if you would prefer to know what to expect. Download the ZIP file with the material here. It includes sheet music and a track of 38 Planes Reprise for the group harmony session and a recording of part of the Finale for movement. A video of the movement piece involved is available here.
What to do if you can no longer attend the audition
If you are unable to attend the audition please let us know as soon as possible, if you:
- No longer wish to audition.
- Are unable to make the day and require instructions on need to submit a video audition.
